Metaphor Language feature

Last week we looked at language features. I have chosen the language feature of a metaphor. A metaphor is saying that an object or individual is something else. This is unlike a simile which says that an object or individual is like something else. The effect of a metaphor is to enable the reader to visualize the object or individual and a particular characteristic. An example of this is “Jordan ice cold when shooting the game-winning three”. Another example of this language feature is “Andy is a walking encyclopedia”. My own example of a metaphor is “Mikey is a tall giraffe”. “ Eddy is a fast cheetah”.

2. Thoughtful - A sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what I had to say
3. Something thoughtful - how have you connected with my learning? Give me some ideas for next time or ask me a question.
