The incident of Amari stealing the scroll helped me to understand the important idea of courage and bravery because it showed me how brave a person can be. We see this in the text when the king sent Inan and his guards to go after the scroll and Amari. This means that Amari thought stealing the scroll was the best thing to do. This made the reader feel Surpised because Amari had the courage to go against her own father. This made the reader feel Surpised because Amari had the courage to go against her own father. In the real world, this idea is important because it helps us accomplish good things.

Chapter 66 - Inan
Chapter 66 – Inan
Father stands in his night robes, scanning a faded map. No sign of hatred. Not even a hint of disgust.
For him, carving MAGGOT into a girl’s back is just another day’s work.
…
In that instant it hits me: Zulaikha’s death. Zélie’s screams. They don’t mean a thing to him. Because they’re maji, they’re nothing.
A message I take from this scene is Inan has seen first hand what his father is willing to do but he isn’t far enough into it to acutually rebel and kill his dad.
Think about how the word ‘maggot’ is used. This is a slur. Do we have these in real life?
there are many words used towards a certain attribute of a person.

maths
this week in math we have been learning about mass and weight
Mass and weight
An objects mass and its weight are two different things. Mass is the amount of matter in an object, measured in ks. We often (mistakenly) call this our weight. Weight is a force of gravity which acts on an object, measured in N.
It is an important scientific fact that, if air resistance is ignored, all objects fall with an acceleration of 10 m/s2 near the earths surface. Therefore we can write the following version of Newtons second law:
Fw = mg where: Fw is the weight force of an object (in N) m is the mass of an object (in kg) g is the acceleration due to gravity (10 m/s2)

How will me coming back to Lagos solve any of that?” I ask. “As we speak, your father calls for my head!”
“My father’s scared.” Inan shakes his head. “He’s misguided, but his fear isTuesday, 15 September 2020

Chapter 56 – Zélie
We zip through the crowd while celebrants thrust and shimmy by our sides. Though part of me wants to cry, I crane my neck to take in the crowd, craving their joy, their life. The children of Orïsha dance like there’s no tomorrow, each step praising the gods. Their mouths glorify the rapture of liberation, their hearts sing the Yoruba songs of freedom. My ears dance at the words of my language, words I once thought I’d never hear outside my head. They seem to light up the air with their delight.
It’s like the whole world can breathe again.

In social studies we have been learning about technology during the egyptian period and how its changed since then. This is my groups research on this topic.
Paragraph 1: Introduction.
Re-state what the question is in a paragraph
During the egyptian period in history there were some significant technological advancements some of the inventions during this time were: pyramids, paper, wigs, boots these inventions are still widely used today.
Paragraph 2: Invention 1 explained
State what the invention is, what it does and how far it has come up until today
A significant invention during the egyptian time period was the invention of the pyramid. Pyramids were built for religious purposes. The Egyptians were one of the first civilizations to believe in an afterlife. They believed that a second self called the ka lived within every human being. When the physical body expired,n the ka enjoyed eternal life.

Ancient shoes found in Egypt
There is very little evidence of the use of covered shoes in ancient Egypt. The few that have been found were woven from palm fiber and grass. Such shoes seem to have been prized possessions.
Paragraph 5: Conclusion
Go over the points you have just made above
In conclusion the egyptian era had lots of things we have upgraded to and still use today.
Some of those things were papyrus, boots and pyramids.

speed racer
1.
The distance that the wind racers had to go was 9m and we got a speed of 0.9 meters per meter
We choose the design because it was an easy design and we couldn't be bothered thinking about it anymore and we could've changed it by making a best sail and more aerodynamic.

chapter 22
I pause for a moment, aghast at the number of them filling the narrow path. Before today, I caught only glimpses of the laborers brought in to staff the palace—always pleasant, clean, groomed to Mother’s satisfaction. Like Binta, I thought they lived simple lives, safe within the palace walls. I never considered where they came from, where else they might have ended up,
“Skies…” It’s almost too hard to bear the sight. Mostly, diviners, the laborers outnumber the villagers by hordes, dressed in nothing but tattered rags. Their dark skin blisters under the scorching sun, marred by the dirt and sand seemingly burned into their beings. Each is hardly more than a walking skeleton.Wednesday, 5 August 2020

chapter 2
“It’s a diviner tax.” I grip the draped fabric of my pants, still haunted by the guard’s touch. “They came for Mama Agba, too. Probably hitting every home in Ilorin.”
Tzain presses his fists to his forehead as if he could smash through his own skull. He wants to believe that playing by the monarchy’s rules will keep us safe, but nothing can protect us when those rules are rooted in hate.

Colour Triads
A triadic color scheme uses colors that are evenly spaced around the color wheel.
Triadic color harmonies tend to be quite vibrant, even if you use pale or unsaturated versions of your hues.
To use a triadic harmony successfully, the colors should be carefully balanced - let one color dominate and use the two others for accent.

Science Experiment- Oil of wintergreen
What happened: the oil just went to a brown color
What should it look like white crystal rocks
What could we change/try: putting less salicylic acid
Steps:
1. Weigh 0.25 grams of salicylic acid into a 10 - 15 cm test tube. This weight does not need to be recorded
2. Add 2.0 mL of methanol to the test tube and swirl until the solid dissolves
3. Slowly add 10 drops of sulfuric acid
4. Place the test tube in a hot water bath and secure by using a utility clamp and heat for 15 minutes
5. Cool the test tube in running water
6. Smell the contents by wafting and record any observations
